marcus freeman and jeremiyah love talk season, heisman buzz on espn

Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and star running back Jeremiyah Love were guests across several show on the ESPN to discuss Notre Dame’s upcoming season, the disappointment of last season’s loss in the national championship game and pre-season buzz.

ESPN has Notre Dame ranked 7th in their pre-season poll and they’ll face the Miami Hurricanes to begin the season on August 31st. The Canes are ranked 21st in the same poll.

Jeremiyah Love was also a guest on College Football Live to discuss the upcoming season and his Heisman aspirations.

Love On The Offseason Attention

“I try to keep the noise just as noise,” Love stated. “I try not to pay attention to a lot of things people say. People’s opinions can change just like that; all that really matters at the end of the day is how I perform and how I see myself doing. When it comes to what other people say, I try not to pay attention. It’s nice to see here and there, but I don’t want to get a big head. I don’t want to come across as cocky or better than everybody. There’s still things I have to grow in. I’m still growing as a person and as a player. I try to keep all of that away from my head and be in my own head space. That’s what I try to do.”

Love On His 2025 Season Expectations

“This season I just want to be better than what I was last season,” Love explained. “I’m not going into this season thinking I have to win a National Championship or I have to win this award or that award. I just want to be better than I was last year; I want to be the best version of myself that I can possibly be. That’s how everybody on the team thinks. Everybody is not too busy focused on material things or individual glory.”
