Notre Dame Obliterates Syracuse 70-7 on Senior Day
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Nov. 22, 2025 — Notre Dame delivered its most lopsided win of the season Saturday, demolishing Syracuse 70-7 on Senior Day at Notre Dame Stadium in a performance that saw the Fighting Irish score touchdowns in seemingly every way imaginable.
The win extended Notre Dame's streak to nine games in a row, improving to 9-2 on the season.
A Historic Scoring Outburst
Notre Dame scored 35 points in the first quarter alone, getting touchdowns on two pick-sixes, a blocked-punt return score, and two rushing touchdowns before Syracuse ran its first offensive play of consequence. Jeremiyah Love had another huge day, breaking off touchdown runs of 45 and 68 yards, while Jadarian Price added a 58-yard scoring run of his own. Notre Dame finished with 10 total touchdowns, including three defensive or special-teams scores, in one of the most complete performances of the Marcus Freeman era.
CJ Carr, playing a limited role as backups saw extensive time in the blowout, still connected with Will Pauling for a touchdown. Syracuse managed only 207 total yards and turned the ball over three times against a Notre Dame defense that recorded five sacks.
Freeman on Jeremiyah Love's Celebrations
With the outcome long decided, most of the postgame conversation centered on running back Jeremiyah Love's now-signature touchdown celebrations, including a Heisman pose after one of his scores. Freeman was asked directly about the theatrics and gave his star back the green light to keep expressing himself.
"You put me on the spot," Freeman said, laughing. "I always say celebrate with your teammates. He's earned the right to do that. I don't like the other one you're referring to, but he's earned the right to do that, so I'll let him go."
Beyond the celebrations, Freeman's team put together the kind of complete performance he had been searching for all season, a fitting sendoff for Notre Dame's senior class on their final regular-season home game.
What's Next
At 9-2 and winners of nine straight, Notre Dame closed out the regular season the following week at Stanford, needing a win to complete a stunning turnaround from an 0-2 start and bolster its case for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
