Notre Dame Rolls Past Navy 49-10 Behind Balanced Offensive Attack

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Nov. 8, 2025 — Notre Dame extended its winning streak to seven games Saturday, cruising past Navy 49-10 at Notre Dame Stadium behind a dominant offensive performance and another highlight-reel run from Jeremiyah Love.

The Fighting Irish, ranked No. 10 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season, improved to 7-2 with the win.

Love Continues Heisman Case

CJ Carr was efficient once again, completing 16 of 19 passes for 253 yards and three touchdowns, while Notre Dame's rushing attack racked up 249 yards and four touchdowns. Love had another signature moment, breaking off a 48-yard touchdown run in which he appeared to be stopped for a loss before bursting free. Aneyas Williams added a 54-yard touchdown run of his own in the fourth quarter.

Navy, playing without star quarterback Blake Horvath due to injury, leaned on backup Braxton Woodson, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown but couldn't keep pace with a Notre Dame offense that never punted more than once and finished the game with zero turnovers and zero penalties.

Freeman Praises the Challenge of Navy's Scheme — and Jeremiyah Love

Head coach Marcus Freeman opened his postgame comments by crediting Navy's unique option-based system for making the win harder than the final score suggested.

"I'm obviously proud of the way our guys battled," Freeman said. "It's always a great challenge when you get ready to play Navy just because of the uniqueness of their schemes on both sides of the ball. It is difficult to prepare for because it's not something you see every week, and it's a good team."

Freeman didn't hold back when asked about Love's continued excellence, including his acrobatic touchdown run that appeared dead in the backfield before turning into a 48-yard score.

"You talk about one of the best players in the country — if he's not one of them, then it's hard to believe how many other players are that special," Freeman said of Love, continuing to build the case for his star running back's inclusion in the national Heisman Trophy conversation.

What's Next

At 7-2 and winners of seven straight, Notre Dame headed into a road rivalry matchup with Pittsburgh the following week, with the Fighting Irish firmly positioned in the College Football Playoff picture after erasing their early-season 0-2 start.

Defensive Performer: Notre Dame's front seven held Navy's nation-leading rushing attack, which entered the game averaging 317 yards per game, largely in check for most of the afternoon.
